Founder Jasmine Johnson grew up in Florida. For her, opening this location is more than a business moment. It’s a homecoming and a major step forward for representation in the cannabis industry.
The Long Road to Opening
Years ago, Jasmine applied for a cannabis license, investing over $148,000 in fees and a 750-page submission. The state denied her application, and Florida did not open another chance to apply for seven years.
Instead of giving up, Jasmine found a new path through partnership and a purchase agreement. Her message is clear: keep moving, no matter the obstacles.
What Makes GŪD Essence Different
GŪD Essence focuses on more than selling cannabis. The “Ū” in the name stands for unity—unity of mind, body, and culture.
Jasmine wants people to understand why they use cannabis and how the plant can support wellness. Many people don’t know how different cannabinoids affect focus, energy, mood, or sleep. GŪD Essence helps guests learn what works for them.
“It’s not about getting high. It’s beyond that,” Jasmine says.

When visitors walk into the Clearwater dispensary, they see bright colors, friendly staff, and a space built with care. Jasmine, who has a background in hospitality, designed GŪD Essence to feel open and inviting.
“Cannabis should be a fun and friendly experience,” she says.
The Clearwater location sells cannabis products for both patients and non-patients—you don’t need a medical card to shop.
